Comets, meteors, and asteroids' : How are they different, how are they related?
Please join Mt. Diablo Astronomical Society for the August astronomy program in the Lower Summit Parking Lot of Mt. Diablo State Park.
The program starts at 7:30pm (enter the park at least 45 minutes earlier). Although there is no fee for this program there is a $10 park entrance fee.
Hold real meteorites - rocks from space - in your hand.
See stars, nebula, galaxies, clusters, the moon and planets through member telescopes. Bring kids, binoculars, warm clothes (temperature can drop), snacks, water. No need for a flashlight but if you must bring one cover it in red plastic. Escorted exit several times during the evening through Northgate entrance.
Astronomy program is weather dependent including high fire danger.
