The Pros and Cons of Gray Water and Rainwater

The Pros and Cons of Gray Water and Rainwater will explain how much water and money can be saved by installing either system. Gray water refers to wastewater generated from wash basins, showers and baths that can be recycled for on-site uses such as toilet flushing and landscape irrigation, while rainwater is the collection of rainwater for on-site reuse.

Tom Bressan of The Urban Farmer Store will explain why these alternative water systems are growing in popularity and which work best for different people's needs, and he'll show techniques for assembling and maintaining gray water and rainwater harvesting systems for a typical residence. He is contributing a rainwater barrel valued at $120 that will be raffled off during this event. His presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer period led by Burlingame Mayor Michael Brownrigg.
