How Should the U.S. Regulate Genetic Testing?

The FDA's recent announcement that it will soon release its Draft Guidance on regulation of Laboratory Developed Tests will obviously be an important subject, but we hope that the conference will take a very broad view of the question, examining options from no regulation to "regulation" by professional standards to state or federal government regulation – as well as all intermediary or mixed positions.  Our overall goal is to address how best to provide genetic tests that are safe, effective, and useful.
