LP25 Interactive: Loma Prieta Earthquake 25th Anniversary Commemoration at the Exploratorium

Join the Exploratorium for LP25 Interactive: Loma Prieta Earthquake 25th Anniversary Commemoration, an emergency preparedness event presented in collaboration with the City and County of San Francisco, American Red Cross and PG&E. From exploring the science behind earthquakes to learning how families can prepare for an emergency, more than 20 organizations will be featured iat the Exploratorium.

Visit an earthquake simulator and experience what happens when a large earthquake occurs, learn how to use a fire extinguisher, and find out more about earthquake safety, fire safety and other emergency preparedness practices. The day culminates in a Taste of Preparedness (TOP) Chef Cook-Off hosted by the Salvation Army from 5:30-6:30 p.m., with five teams competing to create a meal using non-perishable ingredients.

The Exploratorium will have free admission to the public from 4 – 7 p.m.  Otherwise, regular admission rates will be in effect.
