Martin Luther King Day King Tides Walk

MLK Day this year brings the highest daytime tides -- a look at a future of rising sea levels. Friends of Five Creeks and Citizens for East Shore Parks explore history, thriving restorations, how rising sea levels may affect infrastructure and wildlife, and possibilities for buffering the effects on an easy, level shoreline walk from Pt. Isabel north, with lots of bird life. If you like, bring binocs for bird viewing and a camera to contribute to the California King Tides Photo Initiative, documenting changing conditions.

Meet at the north end of Rydin Road (entrance to Pt. Isabel Regional Park), Richmond. Take Central Avenue west, cross both I-80 and I-580, and turn right on Rydin Road. Parking may be limited; allow time for a 5-minute walk from Central.
