Science on Screen: Real Forensics: What Bodies Tell Us
Forensic pathologist Dr. Judy Melinek will discuss her work in conjunction with a screening of the new documentary David and Me, directed by Ray Klonsky and Marc Lamy. The film centers on David McCallum, a convicted murderer who has spent 29 years in prison, and Ray Klonsky, a young man who joins a dedicated team of lawyers and activists convinced of David's innocence and who search for new evidence that will exonerate him.

DR. JUDY MELINEK
Judy Melinek, M.D. is an associate clinical professor at UCSF Medical Center and a forensic pathologist at the Alameda County Coroner's Office. She received training at Harvard, UCLA and the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and the latter work is the subject of her bestselling memoir, Working Stiff, written with T.J. Mitchell. She has been consulted as a forensic expert in high-profile legal cases, as well as for TV's E.R. and Mythbusters. She has a special interest in the use of forensic science in wrongful conviction cases. She will follow her talk with a book-signing.
