Introduction to Arduino: building interactive objects & environments

The Randall Museum is offering a new introductory Arduino course.

Arduino is a popular open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software that's used to create interactive projects- anything from talking clocks to large-scale interactive art installations. In this basic introduction, you'll learn how to set up the Arduino micro-controller board to sense the environment by receiving inputs from sensors, and how to make it affect its surroundings by controlling lights, motors, and other actuators.  This is a project-based introductory workshop: no electronics experience or programming is necessary.  

Basic Arduino supplies are provided for students to use during the workshop. Depending on your interests, you may want to purchase additional materials. You are encouraged to bring your own laptop, but loaners can be provided if needed. The class meets for 2.5 hours and there are 10 meetings, all on Tuesdays, starting 3/24. A $50 materials fee due to the instructor at the first meeting.

Class size is limited to 10 students; minimum age  is 16.
