THE SECRET LIVES OF SNOWIES Ecology and Conservation of the Snowy Plover

Snowy Plover

Take a look inside the life of the diminutive snowy plover. Threatened by habitat loss, poor reproductive success, and human disturbance, the snowy plover has been federally protected since 1993. This shorebird nests locally on the sandy beaches of Monterey Bay and beyond, from Southern Washington to Baja California.

Join Point Blue Conservation Science biologist Kriss Neuman as she discusses the species' ecology, recent research findings, and conservation threats of this fascinating but imperiled shorebird.
