Film summary:
There are thousands of chemicals in use today whose effects on human health are not well known. This documentary tells the stories of people who believe their health has been compromised by chemical exposure, and delves into the conflict between the chemical industry and environmental health advocates as they clash over what chemicals should be allowed in the products we use, and how they should be tested.
Fifty-three years after Rachel Carson's Silent Spring, the consequences of industrial chemicals for human health and ecosystems are still unfolding. This movie hopes to capture where we are today: what we know, what we don't, and what can be done to ensure the design and adoption of safer consumer chemicals.
