The third annual Stephen H. Schneider Memorial Lecture features record-breaking underwater explorer, scientist, and ocean advocate, Dr. Sylvia Earle, who will speak on sustainability and oceans.

Dr. Earle was the first female Chief Scientist of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and holds several deep-diving records (including the deepest untethered solo dive). As a tireless advocate for ocean ecosystems and the people who depend on them, she has won more than 100 national and international awards for her activism, including from the U.N., McGovern Foundation, and Glamour Magazine.

Dr. Earle's work has been at the frontier of deep ocean exploration for four decades. She is currently explorer-in-residence at the National Geographic Society and the founder of Deep Ocean Exploration and Research, Inc., Mission Blue, and SEAlliance.
