A Lake Through the Years: The History and Archaeology of Mountain Lake
Join Presidio Trust Archaeologist Kari Jones to learn about the ongoing research into the cultural and natural history of Mountain Lake. Kari will discuss core samples taken from the bottom of the lake, and what they can tell us about the formation of the lake and its prehistoric environment. By presenting geological, limnological, archaeological and historical data, she will summarize what is currently known about the lake and discuss questions that remain unanswered.
Kari Jones is an archaeologist with the Presidio Trust and has worked on the planning of the Mountain Lake Enhancement and Remediation Projects since 2009.
Talks are held at the outdoor classroom (north end of the lake), approximately a 15 minute walk from the parking lot at 14th Avenue and Wedemeyer Street (Free Parking).
