Space Settlement the Easy Way

Recent discoveries suggest that free space settlement is 200x easier than we've believed! A region of low radiation persists in equatorial orbits below 550km, and human tolerance for rotation is much better than previously thought. Join space pioneer and engineer Al Globus for his analysis of the easiest path into space from both an engineering and a commercial economic perspective via space hotels that grow into full-functioning orbital colonies.

A well-known space innovator, Al Globus developed genetic algorithm software, designed an antenna for TDRS-C and compared algorithms for Earth-observing satellite fleet scheduling. At NASA Ames, he worked on the Hubble Space Telescope and developed an operations simulator for space stations, proving that Moon-based mining equipment could be operated by technicians in Earth orbit. He has designed orbital settlements, published many technical papers, won the Feynman Prize in Nanotechnology along with many NASA awards, and co-founded the NASA Ames/NSS Space Settlement Contest for students in grades 6-12.
