Human Anatomy Drawing Night
This Thursday, explore the inner lineaments of the human body using pencil, paper, and actual anatomical specimens on loan from the Daly Ralston Resource Center at UCSF.
Anatomical illustration is applied to medicine, forensic studies, evolutionary biology, and other scientific fields of research. Experience different ways of seeing and understanding the body by sketching organs and bones under the guidance of professional medical illustrators. Observe a presentation on medical illustration, and learn basic drawing techniques.
Drawing materials are provided; you are also welcome to bring your own. This evening is intended for novices and trained artists alike.
The following materials are provided:
- drawing paper
- Graphite pencils
- Colored pencils
- Erasers
Interested in anatomy, but hesitant to sketch? Feel free to approach and examine the specimens with your hands and eyes.
