Super Nova !
Please join Mt. Diablo Astronomical Society for an astronomy program in the Lower Summit Parking Lot of Mt. Diablo State Park.
The program starts at 8:00pm (enter the park at least 45 minutes earlier) until 11:00pm. Although there is no fee for this program there is a $10 park entrance fee.
This month's program is - "Super Nova ! "Why do some stars explode? Which star is next? Would you exist without supernovae? Take home a sky map of stars will explode as supernovae.
Excitement for the whole family! Participate in hands-on astronomy activities followed by supervised observing through the many different telescopes of MDAS members. See stars, nebulae, galaxies, clusters, the moon and planets through member telescopes. Bring kids, binoculars, warm clothes (temperature can drop), snacks, water. No need for a flashlight but if you must bring one cover it in red plastic. Escorted exit several times during the evening through Northgate entrance.
Astronomy program is weather dependent including high fire danger.
