Live from the Galapagos Webcast: Exploring the Deep Sea with Exploration Vessel Nautilus

Join us on the web or in person for a live chat with scientists and educators on board the Exploration Vessel Nautilus as it explores a part of the Galapagos Islands that Darwin never saw-the deep ocean ecosystems and hydrothermal vents of the Galapagos Rift Zone. We'll discuss that area's submarine geology and the community of organisms that thrive in the warm, sulfurous waters around a vent. We'll also explore the connections between these ecosystems and the kinds of animals, plants, and geology that Darwin encountered when he sailed to the Galapagos Islands on the HMS Beagle in 1835.

This webcast is part of After Dark: RGB, an evening of music, film, exhibits, and other experiences about the three primary colors of light.

And even if you can't join our webcast, you can check out the expedition's live video feed at http://www.nautiluslive.org.
