Free Public Stargazing at Montgomery Hill Observatory, Evergreen Valley College, San Jose
Enjoy a free public by star gazing night at the Montgomery Hill Observatory.
View the skies with a 7" refractor telescope Observatory, 14" Schmidt–Cassegrain telescope observatory and several telescopes set out for the public. Bring your kids, friends and relatives. We will be viewing Planets – Venus, Saturn and Jupiter with its moons; M13 and M4 Globular clusters; Double – Double and Albireo double stars; Ring Nebula; star - Antares; and summer triangle stars - Altair, Deneb and Vega. EVC astronomers will describe some of the myths associated with the visible constellations. This activity is weather dependent.
There will be a free public Astronomy talk before the stargazing event in room # S140, Sequoia building near observatory, during 7 pm - 8 pm.
Direction: Enter EVC through Yerba Buena student parking lot entrance (about 1/2 mile east of San Felipe Road). The closest parking lot to the observatory is student parking lot # 6. The observatory is on the right hand side of the parking lot, on top of the hill.
Parking is free after 6:00 PM in the parking lot #6 for this event
