Science Saturdays: Saving the Amphibians of Mountain Lake
Join Riah Evin from Aquarium of the Bay as she discusses the natural history of amphibians native to the San Francisco Bay Area. She'll discuss a partnership between the Presidio and Aquarium of the Bay that aims to one day return endangered California Red-Legged frogs to Mountain Lake. She will also bring live examples of three species of amphibians native to Mountain Lake.
Riah Evin is a biologist at Aquarium of the Bay where she has worked for five years to protect, restore and inspire conservation of the San Francisco Bay and its watershed. Though educated as a marine biologist, her passion for amphibians started when she cared for them at Birch Aquarium in San Diego. This passion grew as she learned more about their unique physiology and dire conservation struggles.
Talks are held at the outdoor classroom (north end of the lake), approximately a 15 minute walk from the parking lot at 14th Avenue and Wedemeyer Street (Free Parking). Get Directions >>
