Pine Flat History Walk

Come and enjoy this casual walk through Pine Flat with Joe Pelanconi, author of Quicksilver Mining in Sonoma County: Pine Flat Prospect Fever. Learn about the Pine Flat boomtown of the mid-1870's and some the personalities involved. Joe will also have copies of his Book, if you'd like to buy one (it's a good read!).

Reserve through the Modini Mayacamas Preserves Meetup page. Limit 20

Meet at the junction of Red Winery & Pine Flat Roads

Check the Modini Mayacamas Preserves Meetup page the night before in case we reschedule due to weather

Bring water

Steep, Wild Country, No Facilities, No Pets Dress for the weather and bring at least one quart of drinking water. You may also wish to bring a hat, an extra layer and a snack. There are no toilets, no water fountains, no restaurants, no trash collection...this is a primitive and wild place! Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the outing. For hikes you will want shoes that protect your toes and give you good traction on uneven ground, such as sneakers or hiking boots. Please leave your pets at home.

Questions? Contact ACR Naturalist David Self at david.self@egret.org or 707-431-8184 or visit the Modini Mayacamas Preserves Meetup page.

General Info Hikes are hosted by Audubon Canyon Ranch staff. No preregistration is necessary unless otherwise noted, and all hikes are free but donations are greatly appreciated.
