Public Astronomy Program On Mt Diablo
Please join Mt. Diablo Astronomical Society for the September 19th. astronomy program in the Lower Summit Parking Lot of Mt. Diablo State Park.
The program starts at 6:30pm (enter the park at least 45 minutes earlier) until 11:00pm.
This month's program is "the Moon" : How would Earth be different without the Moon? How is our Earth like our Moon? Explore the surface of the Moon with telescopes. We'll get you ready for the lunar eclipse the evening of September 27th. The full moon will rise in eclipse that evening.
Excitement for the whole family! Participate in hands-on astronomy activities followed by supervised observing through the many different telescopes of MDAS members. See stars, nebulae, galaxies, clusters, the moon and planets through member telescopes. Bring kids, binoculars, warm clothes (temperature can drop), snacks, water. No need for a flashlight but if you must bring one cover it in red plastic. Escorted exit several times during the evening through Northgate entrance.
Astronomy program is weather dependent including high fire danger.
