Don Edwards San Francisco Bay Wildlife Refuge and Partners have been engaged in one of the nation's largest restoration projects. The South Bay Salt Pond Restoration Project is 15,100 acres of near shore former salt ponds that are being transformed back into salt marsh and near shore tidal environments. Join U.S.Fish and Wildlife Ranger Joseph Garcia on a bicycle tour of the A-17 and A-16 ponds and see the restoration thus far as we transfer from phase one to the beginning of phase two of the restoration.
Event is First Come, First Served with a limit of 20 attendees.
Restrictions: This is a bike tour (bikes not provided). All riders must have a helmet. Water and snacks recommended. Children must be accompanied by adult. Camera welcome, some binoculars provided during tour.
