Waterfowl Walk at Lake Merritt (California Center for Natural History)
>Winter is coming and waterfowl are returning to Lake Merritt! The close-up views that can be had here make it a great place to learn duck identification. If you want to learn to tell a Canvasback from a Redhead and Scaup from Ring-necks, join the California Center for Natural History on December 2nd - we'll meet at 10 AM at the Lake Merritt Rotary Nature Center.
We'll spend a couple hours walking around the lake talking about ducks and other waterbirds, and we may even stop to look at a few invertebrates along the way! We'll provide binoculars – just bring water, snacks, and a notebook.
