The USACE: From the Sierras to the Sea

In commemoration of Engineer month, this story spans over 150 years of US Army Corps of Engineers service to the state of California balancing environmental stewardship with the need for economic and urban growth. Beginning with the construction of ports, harbors, and lighthouses and expanding over time to include debris removal and dredging major waterways, building and maintaining flood control projects, and responding to disasters are just a few of the duties that keep the Corps ready, relevant and reliable.
