Computational protein structure visualization, modeling, and design

If genes are the blueprint of life, proteins are the machinery itself.

We will cover the basics of how genes are translated into proteins, and how those proteins fold up into secondary, tertiary and quaternary structures. We will also introduce you to structural databases, and computational tools for protein structure prediction, visualization and modeling.

We will have several 3D printed protein structures at hand to explore, and play with the molecule visualization program VMD.
