Introductory Fungus Walk at Joaquin Miller Park (California Center for Natural History)
The atmospheric river has bathed California in water, and mushrooms are popping up in throngs! You're invited to join us for a dive into the woods for a basic introduction to these fabulous creatures - Who are they? What do they do? How can you recognize them? All this and more awaits us between the misty fern fronds.
Our mushroom guide will be Christian Schwarz, co-author of the forthcoming book Mushrooms of the Redwood Coast, a comprehensive book about California coastal mushrooms.
Please bring drinking water, snacks, and warm layers. Dress for wet weather! This walk will not include tasting or collecting of mushrooms.
Atendance will be capped at 20 people and a ticket is required. Our exact meeting location will be e-mailed to you after you order your tickets. Tickets can be found at http://joaquinmillermushrooms.bpt.me
