Pew polling reveals that the environment is one of the two things about which Republicans and Democrats disagree most. It wasn't always this way. President Nixon created the EPA and President Reagan tackled the hole in the ozone and acid rain. President George Bush described himself as an environmental president.

Republicans and Democrats did agree recently to allow the export of crude oil and extend tax credits for clean energy. Can they agree on more ambitious energy and environmental moves?
