Living Humanely With Urban Wildlife...and Intervening When They Need Care
The Peninsula Humane Society (PHS) is one of just a handful of humane societies in the entire United States that includes care and rehabilitation for local wildlife among its core services and has done so for nearly four decades. At peak times, PHS cares for more than 230 local wild animals, and successfully rehabilitates more than 1,500 annually. PHS's Lead Wildlife Technician, Ashley Damm, will discuss the species that come into PHS's care, the reasons they arrive and the range of care they receive. In addition, Ashley will explain what local residents can do if they are finding themselves with unwanted urban wildlife around their home or yard. Prior to joining PHS's Wildlife Department, Ashley worked with PHS's domestic animals as an Adoptions Counselor.
