Wine Nightlife

Corks

Join us for NightLife's first foray into the wonderful world of wine. From how to sip and smell it to how to choose the most impressive (but least expensive) bottle for a special occasion.

Check out wine flights curated by NOPA wine director Lulu McAllister at focused bars around the museum-from red to Rosé and Chardonnay to Champagne. Plus, enjoy tastings in the garden while sipping al fresco at The Terrace.

Meet pros from the San Francisco Wine School and learn about the valuable role our noses play in achieving a full-bodied wine experience. In African Hall, discover how sustainability has become the new standard with Sonoma County Winegrowers and chat with biodynamic winemakers from DaVero Winery. Then, grab a glass and get down to the disco-laced sounds of SyntheTigers and The Bedazzlers.

View wine vessels from throughout history from the Academy's anthropology collection with collections manager Laura Eklund. Plus, chat with winemakers and vermouth distillers from Bluxome Winery, Krater Cellars, and Sutton Cellars, and brush up on the insect ecology of wine grapes with UC Berkeley's Houston Wilson.
