Twilight Zone Nightlife

Dive deep into the Academy's groundbreaking new aquarium exhibit Twilight Zone: Deep Reefs Revealed and be among the first to marvel at rarely-seen fish and invertebrates from these little-known deep reefs.
Hear from the Academy scientists behind the exhibit, including a talk by ichthyology curator Dr. Luiz Rocha, who will break down the cutting-edge technology used to explore biodiversity at depth. View fish as you've never seen them before with captivating images of twilight zone marine life by renowned photographer Andrew Zuckerman (made possible through the Academy's Osher Fellows Program) as he discusses the art of photographing colorful creatures from the deep for the Academy's newly launched multimedia magazine bioGraphic.
At the Project Lab, view marine mammal skulls from the Academy's collection with legendary research associate Ray "Bones" Bandar and chat with author Marah Hardt about the science behind how marine animals reproduce.
