Botany Series: Plant Families in the Field (Muir Beach to Pirates Cove)

Stretch your legs and get out your hand lens! Spend the morning in the northern Marin Headlands and the mouth of Redwood creek for a botanical-oriented hike examining several plant families. Expect a range of weather, sun, wind, and fog; dress appropriately. Bring water, snacks and or lunch. Hike will be moderately strenuous visiting a range of wetland, grassland, woodland, and scrub habitats. Hike will range from 3.5 to 4.5 miles. This experience will be led by Vanessa Stevens (Former Presidio Trust Biological Technician and current contractor for East Bay Municipal Water District).
