LombardÂ at the launch party for his new book,Â The Sea Foragerâ€™s Guide to the Northern California Coast, published by Heyday. A talk will be followed by a book signing and sea shanty songs.

Kirk Lombard combines his incredibly deep knowledge with wry humor and colorful storytelling to guide and inspire readersâ€™ quests to hook fish, dig clams, and pick seaweed. Leighton Kellyâ€™s stunning, occasionally idiosyncratic illustrations complement practical instructions for gathering a variety of fish and seafood and delicious recipes for what to do with each catch.

Lombard,Â a former staff member at the state Department of Fish and Game, is founder of Sea Forager Tours, a foraging tour company, and Sea Forager Seafood, a seafood delivery service.
