THE STEM AMBASSADOR, BIOLOGIST, AND SPEAKER CAT BOBINO IS HOSTING A SEMINAR

“Parent Prep: STEM (Addressing Perception, Misrepresentation, and Foundation”

 Television’s premier scientist and STEM Ambassador, CaT Bobino, is coming to Hayward to host a seminar for parents on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.  The seminar will take place at California State University East Bay on November 12, 2016, and will address the need for parents to have a better understanding of STEM and will aid the in guiding their children into thee fields.  By showcasing and thus aiding in the changing of the stereotypical image of a STEM professional, CaT Bobino aims to engage parents and students with opening up the conversation of available careers in the STEM fields.

Ms. Bobino was a participant on the international show Genius: with Stephen Hawking, as well her local PBS station (KQED), and currently has a show on channel 76 where she interviews diverse people in STEM.  She also has done work with Pride, Scientific America, San Francisco zoo, nonprofit Bridges, on the board for Self e-STEM, CSU East Bay, the Youth Empowerment pageant, UC Davis, K-12 schools and many other institutions and programs to get viable information through the proper channels for implementation.  She is working hard to get the word out there:  STEM is for everyone from all walks of life, and with encouragement and determination, anything is possible!
