“Our place in our Galaxy”. What is our Milky Way Galaxy and where is our place in it?

This month's Mt. Diablo Astronomical Society program is “Our place in our Galaxy”.  What is our Milky Way Galaxy and where is our place in it? See the center of our galaxy. Tour our galaxy through the telescopes

Excitement for the whole family! Participate in hands-on astronomy activities followed by supervised observing through the many different telescopes of MDAS members. See stars, nebulae, galaxies, clusters, the moon and planets through member telescopes. Bring kids, binoculars, warm clothes (temperature can drop), snacks, water. No need for a flashlight but if you must bring one cover it in red plastic. Escorted exit several times during the evening through Northgate entrance.

Astronomy program is weather dependent including high fire danger.

The program starts at 6:30pm (enter the park at least 45 minutes earlier) until 11:00pm. Although there is no fee for this program there is a $10 park entrance fee.
