Join us for the 12th annual Point Reyes National Seashore Fungus Fair! Learn about the fungi of the Point Reyes National Seashore. See remarkable colors and shapes of wild mushrooms that were collected right in the park. Attend lectures, and learn about edible and poisonous mushrooms in the Bear Valley Visitor Center Auditorium.

11:00 am Complexity, Simplicity, and Convergence �" a tour through the evolutionary history of the Basidiomycota, by Dr. Tom Bruns

12:30 pm Introduction to Wild and Edible Mushrooms, by David Rust

3:00 pm Amanitarita's Freaky and Fabulous Fungi, by Debbie Viess

Professor Tom Bruns will present a tour of evolutionary history in the Basidiomycota, one of the phyla which produces mushrooms. Debbie Viess presents the beauties and oddities of the fungal world. David Rust will list some of the "do's" and many of the "don'ts" of edible mushrooms.
