Harry Houdini vs. Psychics & Mediums a SkepTalk: Berkeley

After World War I, as grieving widows and mothers wanted to contact their dead husbands and sons, thenumber of professional psychics and occult mediums exploded. Harry Houdini traveled across American exposing these people as the frauds they were. Being the world’s most famous magician, he knew all their tricks.

Mark Tarses is the president of the Oakland Magic Circle, the oldest independent magic club west of the Mississippi. By occupation, Mark is not a professional magician. Rather, he is a landlord, renting houses to college students in Berkeley.
