Hungry For Answers: Why do we waste so much food?
Food. Essential for life, it sustains us as it propels economies. Defines cultures. Fuels industries. But even as our sophistication at food production increases, we seem unableâ€"or perhaps just disinclinedâ€"to recognize and attempt to solve the enormous and perpetual problems surrounding food.
We grow and produce higher quantities of food today than ever before, yet billions face hunger on a daily basis. We consume enormous amounts of precious water and fuel in the process, emitting prodigious amounts of greenhouse gases along the way, while over 30% of our food supply is wastedâ€"left in the fields, spoiled in transit, uneaten at the table.Â
Our speakers will clarify the facts around food production and waste, and help us to gain an understanding of how we can address and resolve the issues.
