Martin Luther King Jr. Day at the Lawrence Hall of Science
Explore science and engineering with your family as we open all our exhibits, labs, and activities for Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Learn about linkages and build moving toys in the Ingenuity Lab*, catch a showing of Earthflight 3D or Extreme Weather 3D, meet and learn about real animals in the Animal Discovery Room*, and visit Design Quest.
Join Hall staff for guided, ocean-themed, science activities designed to develop your understanding of the ocean and its wildlife. Explore the differences and similarities among a variety of marine animal skulls, and use these observations to predict what each animal likely eats. Then, take a look at sand from local and international beaches and discover how beach sands differ in shape, color, and size.
*Please note, the Ingenuity Lab will be open 11:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m., and the Animal Discovery Room will be open 1:30-4:00 p.m. Ocean-Themed Science Activities 11:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m.
