Has the revolution in technology led to narrow-minded politics?

Yuval Harari, author of the bestseller Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind, will share insights from his forthcoming book, Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow.  Twentieth-century politics was a battleground between grand visions for the future of humankind. Communists, fascists and liberals all wanted to destroy the old world and build a new one in its stead. In contrast, twenty-first-century politics lacks any clear visions for the future of humankind. This is doubly surprising given the revolutionary potential of new technologies such as bioengineering and artificial intelligence, and the existential dilemmas they pose humankind. Why does the twenty-first century seem to combine revolutionary technology with narrow-minded politics?
