DNA Barcoding of Fungi for Beginners

Alan Rockefeller will teach DNA barcoding of fungi, enabling the discovery of new species and understanding of how known species fit into the tree of life. We will start with DNA extraction from fresh or dried mushrooms, PCR with ITS and LSU primers and gel electrophresis. You can bring mushrooms to sequence, or work on mushrooms I have collected in Mexico.
