Fixit Clinic CXCVII (197) Newark Library

Celebrating repair through do-it-together hands-on STEM-oriented fix-n-learn community-based discovery and disassembly: bring your broken, non-functioning things -- electronics, appliances, computers, toys, sewing machines, bicycles, and clothes, etc.-- for assessment, disassembly, and possible repair. We'll provide workspace, specialty tools, and guidance to help you disassemble and troubleshoot your item. Whether we fix it or not, you'll learn more about how it was manufactured and how it worked.

You are expected to actively participate in the disassembly, troubleshooting, and repair of your item so that you leave fully empowered to share your new-found confidence and insight with your friends, neighbors, and the community at large.

Typically, 70% of the items brought in to Fixit Clinics are fixed. It's fun to take apart stuff, see how it worked, and fix it. Fixit Clinic demystifies technology and science so that we can ultimately make better policy choices as a society.
