History & Habitat: Foss Trail and Redhill Hike

Join us for this big hike - 7 miles and 1,440 feet of elevation gain, with a few rough stretches - along the historic Foss Stagecoach Trail and around to Redhill. Peter Leveque, retired Junior College Professor and the guiding force behind early stewardship and education on the Preserves, will regale us with stories of local natural history, ecology and conservation history. Denny Fujita, retired Junior College Chemistry Professor and Foss Trail history enthusiast, will tell us about Clark Foss and the stagecoach days. Dave Self, Botanist and ACR Resource Ecologist, will encourage a closer look at habitat history as recorded in the vegetation of the Preserves. Expect to see fawn lilies, lots of other wildflowers and views, too.
