Recover ancient proteins from fossils

There will be a short lecture followed by experiment setup. The experiment will be to de-mineralize a set of fossils over the course of the next few months by bathing them in a chelating buffer. Each participant will be supplied with a fossil. Once the fossils are de-mineralized, we can document their contents using our dissection microscopes and, if there is interest, run specific identification assays on them.

Please bring a glass jar with a lid (mason jars are good) and a small bottle of rubbing alcohol to participate in the experiment.
