Partial Solar Eclipse Viewing

Monday, August 21, 2017, is the date of the Great American Solar Eclipse!  For those along the eclipse path of totality, which stretches from Oregon across the country to South Carolina, the Moon will cover the Sun, and day will briefly turn into night!  The Bay Area will enjoy a partial eclipse, with more than 75% of the Sun covered by the Moon.  Join us at Chabot to witness this rare eclipse opportunity, which begins around 9:00 am and peaks at 11:20 am.  Expert astronomers and educators will be on hand explaining the phenomenon. See a live feed of the total eclipse, and learn all about solar eclipses with hands-on demonstrations and activities. Event is free to the public.
