PERSEIDS METEOR SHOWER

The program starts at 7:30 (enter the park at least 45 minutes earlier) at the lower summit parking lot. Although there is no fee for this program there is a $10 park entrance fee. 

Meteor showers, comets and asteroids: how are they different, how are they related? Count meteors until the 11 pm moonrise!

See stars, nebula, galaxies, clusters, the moon and planets through member telescopes. Bring kids, binoculars, warm clothes (temperature can drop), snacks, water. No need for a flashlight but if you must bring one cover it in red plastic. Escorted exit several times during the evening through Northgate entrance.
