Ship Chat with Exploration Vessel Nautilus Live from the Ocean Floor

Join a live chat with scientists and educators on board the Exploration Vessel Nautilus as they explore just offshore the San Francisco Bay Area in the Cordell Bank National Marine Sanctuary. The cold California Current that flows through it and the jagged undersea topography on the bottom combine to support a rich diversity of marine life, from sea birds and fish to sponges and deep-sea corals. The sanctuary was recently expanded from 529 to 1,286 square miles and Nautilus is surveying and exploring the new deep-water regions for the first time.
