How to Make an Earthquake
Starting in 2009, 8% of Oklahoma's land area had about half of the earthquakes east of the Rocky Mountains. I'll talk about these earthquakes and their relationship to injection operations, differentiating between water disposal and hydraulic fracturing. I'll show an assessment of the known faults in Oklahoma and how we can tell which ones have more potential to be pushed to slip in an earthquake. Lastly I ll talk about how we've developed technology to help the energy industry identify and avoid these faults.
