What Is Killing the US Coal Industry?

Charles D. Kolstad is a Senior Fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research and Professor of Economics, by courtesy. He is also a Senior Fellow at the Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment and the Stanford Precourt Institute for Energy. He specializes in environmental economics, particularly regulation and climate change. He is past president of the Association of Environmental and Resource Economists and served as convening lead author for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (co-recipient of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize).
