Using Your DNA and Big Data to Manage Your Health
“Big dataâ€, such as genetic information, blood tests, and electronic health records, can be used to provide individualized care for patients and help predict and manage disease. Join us for a presentation by Dr. Michael Snyder, Stanford Ascherman Professor and Chair of Genetics and the Director of the Center of Genomics and Personalized Medicine at Stanford University. Dr. Snyder combined different state-of-the-art “omics†technologies to perform the first detailed integrative personal omics profile (iPOP) of a person and used this to assess disease risk and monitor disease states for personalized medicine. He is the author of the 2016 book Genomics and Personalized Medicine. This talk is presented by the Library's Biotechnology Learning Center.
