Chemists Celebrate Earth Week (CCEW)

CCEW (Chemists Celebrate Earth Week) is an annual initiative through the American Chemical Society (ACS). This year, Olive Children will be hosting a series of FREE community events aimed at extending S.T.E.M. education to the next generation. This year's theme is "Dive into Marine Chemistry." All kids and students in K-12 are welcome! Participants will be guided through fun and engaging hands-on activities, including an Oil Spill Cleanup, Ocean Acidification & Carbonation experiment, and many others. In addition, participants in K-12 will have the opportunity to enter their art into the ACS CCEW Illustrated Poem Contest. Our guest speaker, Mr. Avery Kruger (UC Davis, NOAA Nautilus), will be giving a talk about the role of Marine Chemistry in the ecology and evolution of the Pacific Ocean.
