What happens to water from your toilet, sink, or laundry after it goes down the drain? Find out on a surprising and fascinating tour of EB MUD's Sewage Treatment Plant, near the foot of the Bay Bridge in Oakland. Learn about the history of cleaning our formerly polluted Bay, the complex engineering that protects our environment, new efforts from recycling water (photo right) to generating power -- plus how you can help keep pollutants out of the Bay. This is an easy, mostly level tour but does require standing. There are some steps, but you can avoid them.
