Let’s talk about sex: male-female differences in the immune system
Scientists have long known that women are more susceptible to autoimmune diseases while men are prone to infections, but we don’t know why. Come hear about my work using computational biology to study sex differences in the immune system. This can help us make therapies that take advantage of the different strengths of males and females to fight disease. Regardless of where you fall on the spectrum of sex and gender, there’ll be something for you to learn about your own immune system!
Speaker: Erika Bongen, Stanford
